Freelance Writing Tip: Submit, Submit, Submit

Published by faye12 at 11:25 am under Writing Tips Edit This

I am always on people about promoting thier content and we all should, but we must have something to promote.  That something in our case, article/blog writers, needs to be a new something as often as possible.  Constantly submitting new content is what we all need to do in order to make money and thrive in this business.

Freelance Writing Tip: Submit, Submit, Submit.  And once you have done so, submit some more, taking the time to promote each thing.  Not only should you submit as often as possible, you should do so on some kind of a schedule that will draw daily traffic to your content.  I tend to submit a couple things everywhere that I write and publish from at least a couple of times a week.

If you’re talking about digg and social bookmarking like that I think its’ actually a waste of time.

When you spend more time working on your stuff and less promoting it you will find that people tend to actually WANT to submit it themselves. Fact is, submissions only tend to do well if they are submitted by a power profile, someone with a lot of friends and reputation for bookmarking good stuff. These people spend a whole lot more time than you do on the social sites and spending as much time as they do takes away from your own writing.

Its laid out for you in the name of the service.. social BOOKMARKING. Why would I want to bookmark something when I already know where to find it? Natural bookmarks from visitors receive a much better response.
