New Update

Published by faye12 under Blog Info Edit This

First I wish to answer my readers comments.  You ask submit what and to where.  Well……………Submit Content!  Writing is mainly what I am talking about as it is a writing blog, but content could also be videos, pictures, slideshows, etc.  As far as where, your website, blog, or other websites in which you submit content.

Which brings me to my new about me page.  Some of you may ask where and what do I submit.  I ,for the time being, submit my writing.  On my new about me page there are links to all of the places where you may view my writing.

The new about me page is a great place to catch all of my writing and to find any updates of mine.   I will be taking a break in a few days in order to move, so I may not be adding anything new for a week or two.  In the mean time check out my about me page to get caught up on all my past work.  Thanks for reading!

Freelance Writing Tip: Submit, Submit, Submit

Published by faye12 under Writing Tips Edit This

I am always on people about promoting thier content and we all should, but we must have something to promote.  That something in our case, article/blog writers, needs to be a new something as often as possible.  Constantly submitting new content is what we all need to do in order to make money and thrive in this business.

Freelance Writing Tip: Submit, Submit, Submit.  And once you have done so, submit some more, taking the time to promote each thing.  Not only should you submit as often as possible, you should do so on some kind of a schedule that will draw daily traffic to your content.  I tend to submit a couple things everywhere that I write and publish from at least a couple of times a week.

Freelance Writing Tip: Do The Research

Published by faye12 under Writing Tips Edit This

Hello to all of my happy and humble online writers, and anybody else out there reading.  Today’s blog post is about doing research.  I am not talking about hunkering down for a week pouring over one hundred books and around a thousand papers.  I am talking about the research needed to sound at least as if you know what your writing about.

Freelance Writing Tip: Do Your Research.  It doesn’t take rocket science to write an article about a product or peson etc.  But when you do, make sure you have the facts straight.  I have read so many peices of online writing lately that has many factual mistakes.  It seems as though some readers have lost thier caring for accuracy as long as the ads are getting clicked.  That is all well and good, but you loose your traffic and you will gain no ad clicks by publishing false information.  You can also get in big trouble wih the law.  Come on people, just google it for crying out loud.

Tub Tea Headache Remedy

Published by faye12 under Soap Making Posts Edit This

This mixture is sure to chase away those nasty headaches and relax you as well.  This “tea” is not recommended for ingestion and should only be used in the bath tub.  The ingredients in this mixture will not only help get rid or headaches and relax you but can make you a bit sleepy, so I recommend using this tub tea in the evening.

Chamomile Flowers, dried

Lavender Flowers, dried

St. Johns Wort, dried

Patchouli Bark, dried

Mix equal parts of all ingredients in a sealable container, package as desired.  When using this tub tea, put a tablespoon of this mixture into a tea bag or a square of netting and seal or tie closed.  Add to the running water in your bath tub and relax for at least fifteen minutes in the water.

Basic Hand Soap Recipe

Published by faye12 under Soap Making Posts Edit This

This is a basic recipe for making your own hand soap at home.  You will need to choose essential or fragrance oils to add to it.  I highly recommend using essential oils.  Some of my favorites are lavender, chamomile, and grapefruit.  You may add more then one but be sure to go easy, you don’t want to add too much or your soap won’t turn out.

Clear glycerin melt and pour soap base

Essential oil

Melt the soap base in a double boiler.  When it is completely melted, add your chosen essential oil and mix well.  Pour into your mold or molds and let set completely.  Unmold and cut if necessary.  Wrap in plastic for storage.

Freelance Writing Tip: Business Cards

Published by faye12 under Writing Tips Edit This

I know I keep telling everyone to promote, promote, promote, but seriously you should.  I know I wouldn’t have made a fraction of the money I have with out all of my promotion efforts and the same goes for anyone in the article writing business.

Freelance Writing Tip: Give Out Business Cards.  You can find very cheap and effective business cards online or at local printing shops.  I had some printed with just a web address to one of my blogs.  I think I paid around $10.00 total for a few hundred.  I give them to people I talk to about being a writer, and I leave them on tables at resturants etc.  I have managed to make a small chunk of cash this way and think its worth the consideration.  Happy Writing!

Google AdSense

This is a great little program that will help add a bit more money to your pocket.   If you have a website or your own blog, I suggest you look into adding google adsense to them.  A short time ago, I signed up for a free blog with blogger to have a place in which to speak from and another place to promote from as well.  I signed up for google adsense and within hours I had recieved my welcome email.  It only took me minutes to add google adsense to the side bar of my blogger blog.   I would have to say that this small effort is well worth the potential pay out.  Check it out some time to see what this program can do for you.

Twitter

I strongly suggest that any article writer use the social site, Twitter.  You have everything to gain and only a small amount of time to sacrifice, which most of are just wasting anyway. With Twitter, I have gained at least a few steady views on several of my articles and on my blogs everyday, and I have only been there for a very short time.  Twitter can also offer another place to network any other business as well as a great place to meat friends.  One could use this to follow others writing and save a little time looking all over the net for them.

Freelance Writing Tip: Blogs

Published by faye12 under Writing Tips Edit This

Every writer and business person for that matter needs to worry about advertising to at least some degree.  Their are a myriad of options out there for advertising your article writing.  The one I will discuss here is having a blog.

Freelance Writing Tip:  Get a Blog.  Owning a good blog can do wonders for your page views.  I find the best way to use a blog is to add widgets in the side bar, link pages, as well as posting a small bit of info on an article with a link.   Blogs can be used to make additional money as well as advertise and add to page views.  For example, you can start a blog here, payment info and sign up links are at the bottom of the page.  Also, starting a free blog at places such as blogger and monetizing them can be a good option as well.
