Freelance Writting Tip #4
In my experience as a freelance writer, I have found that some subject matter gets better views then others. Some types of articles, or blogs get a huge amount of views at certain times of the year, others for a short period of time, and some gain views steadily. It seems all can be beneficial, but which one do you choose?
I have heard it said that writing articles that are news, celebrity related, anything to do with current events, or any topic that is generally short lived, get a huge amount of views when the topic is popular then they slowly taper down to nothing. Further, how to article and recipes, seem to gain steady views, while craft and holiday articles gain at certain times of the year.
There are benefits to all types as well as obvious draw backs. I use all types of subject matter I possible can. Short lived gains are good to gain a quick money in spurts, while extra income around the holidays compliment your steady income so nicely at these times.
My advice to you is to write what you enjoy writing about. Also pick as many topics as you can and change it up often. Don’t just write the news for three months strait. I don’t know about you but I would need a mental hospital after writing about the depressing news for that long. Keep things interesting in this way. The best way to get views is to keep writing and to promote your writing. Choose many ad ventures as well, just to keep it interesting. Do Not allow boredom to set in.
